Best DIY Housewarming Gifts to Make for a New Homeowner

Homemade gifts are great for housewarmings. So, if you want to give something with real staying power, I suggest making the following gits.

Homebaked Cookies

Homebaked CookiesIngredients You’ll need:

  • One cup of softened salted butter
  • One cup of light brown sugar
  • Two or three cups of chocolate chips
  • One cup of light brown sugar
  • Two tablespoons of pure vanilla extract
  • Two large eggs
  • Three cups of all-purpose flour
  • One teaspoon of baking soda
  • Half or one teaspoon of baking powder
  • One teaspoon of sea salt

Instructions to make the homebaked cookies:

Step 1: You’ll have to start by preheating the oven to 375 degrees F –that’s obvious. Then, line a baking pan with parchment paper and keep aside.

Step 2: Take a large bowl and add in the three cups of all-purpose flour, one teaspoon of baking soda, one teaspoon of sea salt, half or one teaspoon of baking powder and mix properly. Once all the dry ingredients have been combined properly, set the bowl aside.

Step 3: Now, take a separate bowl and start mixing one cup of softened salted butter with one cup or light brown sugar and one cup of light brown sugar. Now, add the dry ingredients and combine them properly.

Step 4: Take the chocolate chips and add them to the mixture and combine properly.

Step 5: Depending on how small or large you want to make your cookies, roll 3-4 TBS of dough at a time into small balls and then put them on your prepared cookie sheets. You can also use a cookie scoop to prepare your cookies.

Step 6: Once the cookies have been placed into the oven, let them bake for around 10-12 minutes or until they start to turn into a golden brown color.

Step 7: Once you’ve got them out of the oven, let them sit on the baking pan for around 2-3 minutes until you can serve them.

Instructions to make the A bath and body gift basket

Step 1: For this DIY task, it’s important to first gather all the supplies you need and start laying them out.

Step 2: Now, take a bowl and add ten ounces of Epsom salt along with four ounces of sea salt. Then, in a separate bowl, add the remaining ounces of Epsom salt.

Step 3: Take a small bowl and pour in the coconut oil along with 10 drops of lavender essential oil. Once you’ve combined the two ingredients, add them to the first bowl of Epsom salt and sea salt. Stir properly.

Step 4: After putting the mixture into a plastic jar, label it: “Lavender Bath Soak.”

Step 5: Take the second bowl that contains the two ounces of Epsom salt and add the dried rose petals as well as the dried chamomile flowers. Once the mixture has been stirred properly, put it in a muslin bag and label it properly.

Step 6: Using the coffee grinder or any other food processor, combine the oats, sunflower seeds and the lavender flowers until you obtain a fine powder.

Step 7: Then, pour the powder into a muslin bag and label it: “Oatmeal and Lavender Bath.”

Step 8: To make the lavender body oil, add the oil and lavender essential oil into the oil bottle, close tightly and shake to combine. Then, label the bottle.

Step 9: The last step includes placing all the goodies in a well-decorated basket or box.
